Foundation, Inc.to Host Meet the
Authors Reception

Friday, May 7th at 6:00 p.m.
at the University Club.

The University Club of Albany Foundation, founded in 2009 to recognize and maintain the historic and architectural significance of the University Club of Albany, will host a cocktail and hors d’oeuvres reception on Friday, May 7th at 6 p.m atThe University Club in Albany.

Local authors Gary McClouth will discuss his latest book, Natural Causes and Other Stories, which describes life in rural western New York in the 1940s-1960s. In addition to his writing, Mr. McClouth teaches communications at The College of St. Rose and produces and hosts "Today’s Authors" on the ION TV network, a talk show in which he interviews authors about their work, aspriations and creative processes.

This event is open to the public and will be held at the historic University Club of Albany, 141 Washington Avenue at Dove Street. Tickets are $75 and will include a cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and dinner. Reservations can be made by calling the University Club at 518-463-1151. Donations to the Foundation are tax-deductible.

"The University Club Foundation was formed to provide support for maintenance and historic preservation projects for our Clubhouse in downtown Albany, where the University Club has been located since 1901,” said Vito Grasso, President of the Foundation. “We plan to produce a series of dinners, receptions and other events featuring local authors, historians and artists to raise funds for the Foundation and to expose people to local history and art. We also look forward to participating in programs and projects that promote the unique history and architecture of downtown Albany, and preserve the character of the neighborhood of which the club is a part."
